Project: Urban Jungle – Gargoyle
Artist: Aroma
Location: IM VIADUKT

Project
Watch out, it’ll be wet soon! Especially for this festival summer, the entrance of the market hall is generously entwined with leaves. The gazing leaves no eyes dry! A gargoyle is hiding in the greenery. You get unexpectedly surprised by water splashes! This will surely delight the youngest visitors in particular.
Artist
Aroma is a leader in three-dimensional communication and comprises four areas: exhibition, event, retail and interior. Founded in 1995, Aroma today has around 5,000 m2 in Noerd, the commercial building for creative people in the north of Zurich, for agency, warehouse, production, manufacturing and logistics centre. Aroma implements «Urban Jungle» IM VIADUKT for the PWG Foundation.
Location
The PWG Foundation acquires and provides affordable residential and commercial premises in the city of Zurich. In the listed rail viaduct it leases 46 shops, studios and catering outlets, including the first market hall of the city of Zurich. In 1894, viaducts replaced railway embankments in the industrial district of Zurich. By then, business was already moving into the viaduct. Up to 200 stonemasons pursued their craft there. In the 1990s, innovative tenants settled in and brought the district to life. As part of the refurbishment, the PWG Foundation took over the expansion of the viaduct arches in 2004. The aim was to fill the viaduct with district compatible and regionally rooted usages, so that IM VIADUKT became a meeting place for the neighbourhood and beyond.
